Director: Brea Grant
Writer: Brea Grant
Starring: Angela Bettis, David Arquette, Chloe Farnworth
It’s 1999 and over the course of one 12 hour shift at an Arkansas hospital, a junkie nurse, her scheming cousin and a group of black market organ-trading criminals start a heist that could lead to their imminent demises.
Brea Grant brings us the black comedy, hospital horror 12 Hour Shift for her second feature film after 2013’s end of the world, road trip comedy Best Friends Forever. No stranger to horror, she was writer and star of Nerdist’s The Real Housewives of Horror, as well as co-writer of the 1920s zombie comic We Will Bury You. For those who recognize her name as an actor, Grant had roles in Heroes, Dexter, and Friday Night Lights. Star Angela Bettis is another name familiar to horror fans for roles in the 2002 television adaptation of the Stephen King’s Carrie and Lucky McKee’s cult horror May.
Reviews
12 Hour Shift has a sick sense of humor that makes its washed-out setting the perfect blank canvas for writer and director Grant to paint her gleefully bloody caper. – Hoai-Tran Bui, /Film
Things get even bloodier than you’d expect in Brea Grant’s grisly medical malfeasance movie. – Dennis Harvey, Variety
